Clarendon, Queensland
Clarendon is a rural locality in the Somerset Region, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2016 census Clarendon had a population of 244 people.[1]

History
The locality takes its name from Lake Clarendon (approx 20 kilometres (12 mi) to the south-west).[2]
Clarendon railway station was in use from 1886 to 1995 (it was called Tarampa initially but was renamed).[2]
Lockyer Creek Provisional School opened circa 1891. In 1892 it was renamed Lockyer Provisional School. It closed in 1915.[3]
Clarendon Post Office opened on 1 July 1927 (a receiving office had been open from 1873 under the names of Tarampa, Watson's and Clarendon) and closed in 1951.[4]
Clarendon State School opened on 23 January 1929.[3]
In the 2016 census Clarendon had a population of 244 people.[1]

Education
Clarendon State School is a government primary (Prep-6) school for boys and girls at 507 Clarendon Road (27.4398°S 152.5425°E).[6][7] In 2018, the school had an enrolment of 84 students with 6 teachers (5 full-time equivalent) and 9 non-teaching staff (4 full-time equivalent).[8]
