Central Region Lesbian & Gay Pride

Central Region Lesbian & Gay Pride (French: L'association Lesbian & Gay Pride région Centre), also known as LGP Central Region is the organization which organizes yearly pride parades in the mid-central French city of Tours. It also runs the LGBT Space of Touraine, an LGBT community center. It was founded in 2005 by "Quazar", the LGBT association of Angers.

History
  • November 2005: creation of the association.
  • February 2006: inauguration of the LGBT Space of Touraine.
  • May 17, 2006: first participation in the International Day against Homophobia.
  • May 20, 2006: first Tours Lesbian & Gay Pride .
  • September 2006: launch of "Open the Closet!" (French: Ouvrez le Placard!), Sunday radio show on Radio Béton.
  • October 14, 2006: Implementation of Positive Cafes, set up for people with HIV.
  • May 19, 2007: second Lesbian & Gay Pride, more than 1,100 people in the streets of Tours.
  • June 29, 2007: The association provides the City Council of Tours the price of the French Federation of LGBT Centres, to honor by using it for the creation of the LGBT Touraine and for the 1st Lesbian Gay Pride & Tours.
  • May 24, 2008: third Lesbian & Gay Pride, attended by a thousand people.
