CKY discography

The discography of CKY, an American rock band, consists of five studio albums, one live album, four compilations, three extended plays (EPs), one video album, 13 singles and 18 music videos. CKY was formed in West Chester, Pennsylvania by lead vocalist and guitarist Deron Miller, lead guitarist and vocalist Chad I Ginsburg, and drummer Jess Margera.[1] Miller and Margera had previously been working under the name Oil with live bassist Ryan Bruni, becoming CKY upon the addition of Ginsburg during the recording of the band's debut album in 1998.[1] The band released its debut studio album Volume 1 (produced, engineered and mixed by Ginsburg) on February 27, 1999 through Teil Martin and Distant Recordings, alongside Volume 2 which featured recordings and skits from the first CKY video.[1]

After signing with Island/Def Jam, CKY released Infiltrate•Destroy•Rebuild in 2002.[1] The album gave the band its first entries on a number of record charts, reaching number 99 on the US Billboard 200,[2] number 108 on the UK Albums Chart,[3] and number 10 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart.[4] The one single from the album, "Flesh Into Gear", reached number 38 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.[5] Infiltrate•Destroy•Rebuild: The Video Album, featuring music videos for all ten songs on the album, was released in 2003 and charted at number 34 on the Billboard Music Video Sales chart.[6] An Answer Can Be Found, released in 2005, peaked at number 35 on the Billboard 200 and number 102 on the UK Albums Chart.[2][3] Single "Familiar Realm" reached number 32 on the Mainstream Rock chart.[5]

Matt Deis joined as CKY's first full-time bassist in 2005, replacing touring bassist Vernon Zaborowski who had joined in 2000, and in early 2006 the band signed with Roadrunner Records.[1] The group's first release on the label, 2009's Carver City, reached number 46 on the Billboard 200.[2] The album also reached number 4 on the Hard Rock Albums chart and number 14 on the Top Rock Albums chart,[7][8] as well as number 119 in the UK and number 7 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart.[3][4] In March 2011, the group released its first career-retrospective album B-Sides & Rarities, followed by B-Sides & Rarities Volume II later in the year.[9] After continued tensions between band members, Miller left CKY in 2011; he was replaced by Daniel Davies for a number of shows in 2012 and later in 2015.[10][11]

CKY returned in 2016 to record a fifth studio album, with Ginsburg taking over the vacated role of lead vocals following Davies' departure.[12] The band subsequently signed an international record deal with Entertainment One Music and released The Phoenix in June 2017.[13] The album debuted at number 19 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart,[14] number 98 on the Top Current Albums chart,[15] number 9 on the Hard Rock Album Sales chart,[16] and number 37 on the Rock Album Sales chart.[17] The limited edition EP Too Precious to Kill was released on November 23, 2018 to support Record Store Day, featuring four new tracks.[18]
