Baleswari Odia
Baleshwari Odia (Odia: ବାଲେଶ୍ୱରୀ ଓଡିଆ), also Northern Odia[1] or North Balasore Oriya, is a dialect of Odia[2] spoken in the Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak districts of the Indian state of Odisha. It has linguistic variations to Standard Odia.[3] Baleshwari Odia spoken in Mayurbhanj district (commonly called Mayurbhanjia) is more similar to Standard Odia and has more tribal influence, while the variant spoken in northern coastal Balasore region (called Baleshwaria) has a distinct accent with some Bengali influence. Baleshwari Odia is similar in much of Balasore district, however the dialect varies towards Soro and Bhadrak district where it becomes more similar to Standard Odia.

Characteristics and Comparison
For eg-Baleshwari substitutes Kisa (କିସ) for the most used word Kana (କଣ), meaning "what". Most of the syllables which are pronounced as "o" in Standard Odia are pronounced as "u" in Baleshwaria; e.g., Odisha (ଓଡ଼ିସା) is pronounced Udisha (ଉଡ଼ିସା).
