Baby Naznin

Baby Naznin (born 23 August 1965)[1] is a Bangladeshi singer. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her performance in the film Sahoshi Manush Chai (2005).[2] She is dubbed "Black Diamond" in Bangladesh.[1]

Early life and career

Naznin was born on 23 August in 1965 in Saidpur, Nilphamari in the then East Pakistan. Her first lesson in song was started under her father Mansur Sarkar. She started singing on stage when she was just seven years old. She sang the first movie song in 1980.[1] The first album 'Patramita' was released in 1987 under the music direction of Maksud Jamil Mintu. Then the albums ‘Nisshobdo Sur’, ‘Kal Sara Raat’, ‘Prem Korileo Daay’, ‘Duchokhe Ghum Aase Na’ strengthened Baby Nazneen's position in modern songs.[1]

In early days, Naznin was a volleyball player and she once represented Rajshahi division.[3]

Naznin released her first album with 12 modern songs in 1987.[3] She released her 50th solo album in 2014.[4]

So far, se has released about 50 solo and over two hundred mixed albums. He has three books of poetry in the market named 'Shey', 'Thotey Bhalobasha' and 'Priyomukh'.[1]

Personal life

Naznin has a sister, Lini Sabrin.[5] Naznin sought nomination to compete at the Nilphamari-4 constituency representing the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for the 2018 Bangladeshi general election.[6][7] As of November 2020, she resides in the United States and serving as the Assistant Secretary for International Affairs of the BNP.[8]
