History
Ascension Catholic was established in 1845 as St. Vincent Institute by the Daughters of Charity.[2]
ACHS is known for having one of the premier athletic programs in Louisiana having won state championships in Football, Girls' Basketball, Baseball, Softball, and Cross Country.
Ascension Catholic High School has won 3 State Championships in Football. The Bulldogs football team has made 28 playoff appearances with 18 wins. The Bulldogs win over Jake Delhomme's Teurlings Catholic (66-6) remains as one of the biggest margins of victory in the semi-final round of the LHSAA playoffs.
