Amasia, Shirak
Amasia (Armenian: Ամասիա) is a village and rural community (municipality) in the Shirak Province of Armenia. Amasia was the capital of the former Raion of Amasia. The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia (ARMSTAT) reported its population was 2,218 in 2010,[1] up from 1,878 at the 2001 census.[2]

According to "Caucasian Calendar" of 1912, 528 people, mainly Azerbaijanis mentioned as Karapapaks, lived in village Amasia of Kars Okrug of Kars Oblast.[3]
