After the war he played with both the Wildcats[3] and Tigers[4][5] in 1945, but was traded to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and eventually decided to go to university.[6] As a Golden Gael at Queen's University he was two time all-star. He is a member of the Queen's University Football Hall of Fame.
- Last Friday, former Queen's Athletics Director Al Lenard died at the age of 86. Lenard arrived at Queen's in 1946 and was a member of the football, basketball, softball, golf, swimming and track and field teams. Following graduation, Lenard took a position at Queen's as the successor of retiring Athletic Director Pat Galasso. He held the position for 20 years and oversaw the growth of Queen's Athletics from 16 to 42 varsity teams. In addition to his contributions to Queen's Athletics, he served a term as president of Ontario University Athletics and was a board member of Canadian Interuniversity Sport.[7]
