Akinlabi Olasunkanmi
Akinlabi Olasunkanmi (born March 1956), is a businessman, appointed as minister responsible for youth development in the cabinet of president Umaru Yar'Adua of Nigeria.

Background
Olasunkanmi comes from a humble background in Ode-omu, Osun state, Nigeria. Olasunkanmi attended Howard University, where he graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He also earned a master's degree in business administration from Columbia University.
Professional life
Initially a banker, Olasunkanmi is now known for his success in various business ventures. His financial success and philanthropy has contributed to his prominence in Nigerian high society. He was elected initially to the Senate under the flagship of the PDP, and joined the cabinet later on. He has held roles as Vice President for the Senate Committee on Education and an Ad-Hoc Senate Committee with the aim of investigating a corruption case involving a president and vice president. Olasunkanmi has founded many positives initiatives in the country. These range from providing motorcycle, sewing machines and boreholes for Osun state to implementing youth centers across the nation. Although intensely private, Olasunkanmi is a favorite amongst the people for his accountability, productivity and philanthropy.
