2d Air Support Operations Squadron

The United States Air Force's 2nd Air Support Operations Squadron is a combat support unit located in Vilseck, Germany. The squadron provides tactical command and control of airpower assets to the Joint Forces Air Component Commander and Joint Forces Land Component Commander for combat operations.

Mission

The 2d Air Support Operations Squadron trains, equips, and maintains mission-ready air liaison, terminal attack control, and weather observation and forecasting elements to support the commanders of US Army units, such as the 2nd Cavalry Regiment.
