2015 Islamabad local elections
Elections to 50 local Union Councils in the Islamabad Capital Territory were held on November 30, 2015.[1] The fifty chairmen elected constitute the Islamabad Municipal Corporation.[2] The last local elections in Islamabad had been held in 1979, but only in rural areas.[2]
There were 676,795 eligible voters.[2] Tight security measures were enforced on polling day.[2] No incidents of violence were reported.[2]
