The Titans competed in the Pacific Coast Athletic Association.[note 1] The team was led by second-year head coach Gene Murphy, and played four home games at Titan Field on the Cal State Fullerton campus. The team shared the stadium with the baseball team and it was only used for the 1980 through 1982 seasons. They finished the season with a record of three wins and eight losses (3–8, 1–4 PCAA).
