The 1944–45 season was Real Madrid Club de Fútbol's 42nd season in existence and the club's 13th consecutive season in the top flight of Spanish football.

Summary
The club finished Runner-Up just one single point below Champions FC Barcelona [1] under management of Ramon Encinas.[2] The team remained competitive until on Round 21 archrivals Barcelona defeated the club in a 5-0 landslide score and shattered its options for the League title.[3] The squad reached the Copa del Generalisimo Eightfinals after defeated SD Ceuta [4] and was eliminated in a tie breaker by Sevilla [5] thanks to Barinaga and 2 goals of Pruden.
On 27 October 1944 the club started the construction of the new stadium at Chamartin.[6]
