History

The white, stone church was built in a long church style before the year 1342. It has been renovated several times after fires. It has preserved medieval walls, but none of the original furnishings have been preserved. The wooden structure of the church was rebuilt in 1855 after a fire the year before. The church was renovated was in 1916 and 1960. The most recent design is by the architect Carl Riiber. The church seats about 330 people. The 2-foot (0.61 m) thick walls are whitewashed stone. None of the original furnishings remain, but the walls are original.[2][3]
