Summary

The book details the ways in which Coulter believes America is negatively impacted by immigration to the United States from Latin American nations.[6][7]

Nathan Evans points out that "she uses her podium to attack not just liberals, her frequent targets, but those on the right who would offer up America wholesale under the guise of compassion and diversity, resulting in the exploitation of a more-than-willing workforce, as well as millions of new residents who will – most likely – bloc vote for Democrat candidates. That and cheap maids."[8]

Evans added, "Although the government can't give us a count, Miss Coulter has noticed that men who rape their 11-year-old nieces or 8-year-old stepdaughters are almost always Hispanic. They grew up with different ideas: The age of consent in Mexico is 12 in all but one Mexican state and 14 in the other. Miss Coulter also notes that since 1990 there have been 53 verified cases of girls age 10 and under giving birth in Latin America–and probably plenty more in the wilds of Bolivia and Honduras. By contrast, there have been only eight such cases in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and all of Western Europe combined. In seven of those cases, the father was an immigrant."[8]

Critical reception

Reviewing it for National Review, Jay Nordlinger called it "a serious book making serious points."[6] and said "Her contention is that the people, or People, have long wanted a clampdown on immigration, but the elites, or Elites, have thwarted them."[6]

In The New York Times, Timothy Egan suggested that "Her book has influenced Trump."[9]

The Southern Poverty Law Center notes that she "routinely cites white nationalists, anti-Muslim activists and anti-immigrant groups" in the book.[10]
