Zeng Keni

Zeng Keni (Chinese: 曾可妮; born Zeng Ni [曾妮]; June 9, 1993), is a Chinese singer and actress. She is a member of the Chinese girl group Zeng Keni & Liu Lingzi. She is best known for finishing 13th in the survival show Youth with You 2 and her television appearance in Go Get Her (2019). She also participated in the survival show Girls Fighting (2016).

In this Chinese name, the family name is Zeng.

Early life

Zeng Keni was born as Zeng Ni, on June 9, 1993 in Wuhan, Hubei, China. She graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy in 2011, majoring in dance.[1]

Career

Pre-debut

After graduating, she became a performing actor and entered a Shanghai musical group. However, she left as she only had minor roles.

In 2016, she signed with Banana Entertainment and became a member of Trainee18. She then left and joined OACA.[2]

2016–2019: Girls Fighting, Diamond Girls and acting debut

In 2016, she joined Dragon Television's reality-survival program Girls Fighting in 2016.[2][3][4] In the finals, she eventually debuted as a member of Diamond Girls.[5]

In 2018, Zeng made her big-screen acting debut in The Mystical Treasure playing the main role as Ta Na.[6] She also played He Miao in Mysterious Raiders.[7][8]

In December 2019, Zeng acted in Tencent Video's television series Go Get Her, playing the role of Mu Rong Qian Yue.[9][10] The same year, she also acted in To Be Hero and Our Shining Days.

2020–present: Youth With You 2 and rise in popularity

In 2020, Zeng took part in iQiyi's reality-survival program Youth With You 2.[11][12][13] She eventually placed 13th in the finals and did not debut with the winning group, THE9.

On June 3, it was announced that Zeng, together with Jin Zihan, Liu Lingzi and Dai Yanni would form a project group 172Girls. The group performed at the Jiangsu TV Tmall 618 Party Night.[14]

On July 6, Zeng together with label mate Liu Lingzi collaborated with Chinese Basketball Association and released the single "Migratory Bird" to root for students taking the gao kao.[15]
