Yusuf Namoğlu

Yusuf Namoğlu (born 8 February 1947 in Istanbul, Turkey) was a Turkish international football referee[1] politician and architect.

Career

He officiated nine international matches and was member of FIFA in 1983–92. He attributed three matches in World Cup qualifying 1986 (1) and 1990 (2), a mathc in EURO 1992 qualifying, two group stage matches in 1988 Asian Cup[2] and others were in friendly matches. He also refereed a match in U21 EURO 1988.

In club football he officiated some UEFA competition matches such as UEFA Cup (7) and Cup Winners Cup (3).[3]

Personal life

After active refereeing career Yusuf Namoglu was Mayor of the Besiktas district of Istanbul in 1999-2004 and a member of parliament for two years.[4] In 2011, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Central Arbitration Board (CAB),[5] in 2016 he was reappointed as the chairman of the CAB but Namoğlu announced that he resigned from his post in February 2019.[6]
