Product overview
XenMobile is enterprise mobility management software developed by Citrix.[1] The product allows businesses to manage employee mobile devices and mobile applications.[2][3] The software’s aim is to increase productivity by allowing employees to securely work on both enterprise-owned and personal mobile devices and apps.[4][5]
A suite of enterprise applications come with the software called the Worx mobile application suite.[6] It comprises email client SecureMail,[7] that can be used to manage employee email, contacts and calendar,[4] a browser called SecureWeb,[8][6] WorxDesktop, which allows access to remote files and applications, WorxNotes, an app for creating documents for notes, and WorxEdit for editing documents.[9][1] In May 2015, the company introduced time management tool WorxTasks to the app suite.[10]
History
The technology that would become XenMobile was created by MDM developer Zenprise.[11][12][5]
In January 2013, Citrix acquired Zenprise.[2][13] Citrix merged the existing MDM functionality of Zenprise with its own Citrix Cloud Gateway MAM software to create XenMobile.[14][5] In June 2013, Citrix launched the initial version of XenMobile.[4]
Features
XenMobile features the ability to track, lock and wipe devices, in addition to secure access and management of enterprise email, calendar and file management via ShareFile.[4][1] It uses XenMobile Server, which combines Device Manager and App Controller, for the management of devices and applications.[1][14][15]
