William Grainge

William Grainge (1818–1895) was an English antiquarian and poet, a historian of Yorkshire.[1] Born into a farming family in Kirkby Malzeard, he later set up a bookshop in nearby Harrogate and published numerous books on local history and topography.

A large portrait of Grainge hangs in Harrogate library.[2]
