William Frederic Pendleton

William Frederic Pendleton (born March 25, 1845 in Savannah, Georgia November 5, 1927) was the first Executive Bishop of the General Church of the New Jerusalem, in Bryn Athyn, PA.[1][2][3]

Biography

Pendleton was the son of Major Philip Coleman Pendleton and Catherine Sarah Melissa Tabeau.[4] He became the first Executive Bishop of the General Church of the New Jerusalem in 1897.[5] The General Church had split with the Swedenborgian Church of North America (sometimes known as the General Convention) in 1890 in a doctrinal dispute.
