Wayne Caines
Wayne Caines Born and raised in Bermuda, Wayne graduated Oakwood University in 1993, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and a Minor in Political Science. He is also a graduate of the University of Kent , School of Law and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), where he was trained as an infantry officer as part of the Territorial Army Officers Commissioning Course. He is the son of Michael and Shurnett Caines, married to Maxanne Anderson since 1996, and they have one daughter Maxanne Caines II.

A Bermudian politician for the Progressive Labour Party [1] and is the President of Ascendant. Ascendant Group Limited is a Bermuda-based, provider of energy and energy-related services, owned by Algonquin Power and Utilities Corp. (APUC).
Education
Wayne received his Bachelor of Arts, History, Minor Political Science Oakwood University, Alabama, USA Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. Following that received a Law Degree (LLB) University of Kent at Canterbury, UK University of Kent and graduated the Territorial Army Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, UK Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.[2]

Caines is currently the President of Ascendant and previously he was the Minister of National Security, Bermuda Government from 2017 to 2020.

Political career
Prior to entering Parliament, Caines was Chief of Staff in the Office of the Premier. He then served as a Progressive Labour Party Senator, becoming Junior Minister of Tourism, Transport, Environment and Sport.
Following the Progressive Labour Party victory at the 2017 election, in which Caines was re-elected as member for Devonshire North West, Caines was appointed as Minister of National Security.[3]
