Victor Balashov
Victor Ivanovich Balashov (Russian: Виктор Иванович Балашов; born December 24, 1924, Moscow) is a radio-host and speaker for the USSR Union Radio (since 1944). From 1947 to 1996 he worked for Soviet Central Television.[3] In 1997 he was awarded the People's Artist of Russia. Veteran of the Second World War, as a member of the Red Army.[1]

Master of Sports of the USSR in sambo (coach Anatoly Kharlampiyev), champion of Moscow.[4]
He also performed as a voice-actor in documentaries and feature films.[5]
