Velykyi Burluk
Velykyi Burluk (Ukrainian: Великий Бурлук, Russian: Великий Бурлук) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine, the administrative center of Velykyi Burluk Raion in Kharkiv Oblast. Population: 3,717 (2020 est.)[1]

History
Founded as a village of Shevelivka in 1656, and later was renamed Velykyi Burluk.
It was a village in Volchansk uyezd of Kharkov Governorate of the Russian Empire.
A local newspaper is published here since August 1931.[2]
During World War II it was under German occupation from June 1942 to February 1943.
Urban-type settlement since 1963.
In January 1989 the population was 5224 people.[3]
In January 2013 the population was 4053 people.[4]
