In 2019 professors Elliot Soloway and Cathie Norris founded the Center for Digital Curricula under the auspices of the University of Michigan College of Engineering for the purposes of building fully digital open curricula.[2] This curricula, composed by the center's team of educators, is primarily designed to be delivered using the Collabrify Roadmaps[3] software platform first developed in the mid 2010s.
Roadmaps was produced in-house at the University of Michigan College of Engineering as part of the Collabrify suite of software for the purposes of facilitating collaborative digital education.[4] Due to the demand for digital education as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Center for Digital Curricula began offering their products freely to school districts across the United States.[5]
