Trell (application)
Trell is a Lifestyle Social Commerce platform owned by Trell Experiences[2] having its registered office at Bengaluru, India. The application is for users to share their experiences, recommendations, and reviews for various categories by making videos.[3] It has categories of Fashion, Beauty, Personal Care, Recipes, Food, Travel, Movie and TV Reviews, Gadget Reviews and demos among others that have a duration from 3 to 5 minutes.[4][5][6] It also allow users to play games and invite others.[7]

History
The application was developed by an Indian app development company called Trell Experiences and launched in August 2017, by IIT Bombay Alumni Arun Lodhi, Prashant Sachan, Pulkit Agrawal and NITIE Alumnus Bimal Kartheek Rebba.[7]
When Tiktok, Chinese-owned video-sharing social sharing app was banned in India on 30 June 2020, trell app saw a huge spike in users with several TikTok users registering.[2][3]
In August 2020, Trell and other competitors like Chingari started focusing on monatisation.[8] Later they released Trell Anthem "Keh Jo Kehna Hai" which is sung by Sukhwinder Singh"[9]
Technology
Trell app has editing tools on the platform and upload their content. It allows users to use filters and effects for videos. [7]
Awards
- The application won The Best Technology Start-Up of the Year award at the Times Business Awards 2020.[10]
