Todd Grubbs

Todd Grubbs is an American rock-fusion guitarist and composer, primarily of complex and melodic instrumental music.

Work as musician

Grubbs is from Tampa, Florida, and studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and locally at HCC. In 2006 Grubbs played guitar for 3 Green Windows; he also produced their album, Red Door. His extensive recorded collaborations include tracks made with Don Preston (Mothers of Invention). He has also worked with other musicians, such as Derek Sherinian, Chris Poland, Blues Saraceno, Don Preston, Sean Malone, Mike Keneally, John Wesley, and Mark Prator. He has been featured in national and international magazines such as Guitar World, Guitar FPM, and Guitar (Japan).[1]

Work as guitar instructor

Grubbs has taught guitar since the 1990s,[1] and is currently an instructor in the Tampa, Fl area where he is the owner of "Todd Grubbs School of Guitar". He has released 5 full-length CDs and is working on his 6th. A live DVD also is in the works.

Influences

In an interview on Outside Radio Hours, Grubbs stated that his influences include Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, Allan Holdsworth, John Coltrane, The Beatles, and Frank Zappa.[1]
