Over the years, the Spider Society used Hunters to fight the superheroine Wasp's society The Sisterhood of the Wasp.

Fictional history

The Spider Society started in Castile in 1099 A.D. for the purpose of worshiping Spider-Totems.[1] Over the years, the Spider Society used Hunters to fight the Sisterhood of the Wasp. The Hunters are part of a long bloodline.

The Hunters are warriors chosen by the Spirit of the Hunter, and are marked by a spider-shaped tattoo imbued with spider-like abilities.[2] Anya Corazon was believed to have been chosen as a Hunter after her late mother Sofia Corazon but this proved untrue and she passed the Hunter's power to its true receptacle Nina Smith.[3]
