The Album of the Year is a compilation album presented by American rap label Suave House Records on July 29, 1997. The album contained ten tracks recorded by Suave House artists including 8Ball & MJG, Tela and South Circle, each of which featured production from Suave House's production team, Smoke One Productions.

Upon its release, The Album of the Year rose to #26 on the Billboard 200 and #4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. With the exception of South Circle's "Ghetto Madness", which appeared on their 1995 album, Anotha Day Anotha Balla, the rest of the songs were exclusive to the album.
