This fight served as a reserve for a -60kg World Tournament on the same card.[9] On December 8, 2018 Taio became successful in the K-1 ring for the first time at K-1 World GP 2018: K-1 Lightweight World Tournament where he beat Riku Anpo by Unanimous decision.
