Smugglers of Death
Smugglers of Death (Czech: Král Šumavy literally King of Sumava) is a 1959 Czechoslovak adventure, crime film directed by Karel Kachyňa. The film is about members of SNB who guard Czechoslovak border in 1948.[1] The film was viewed by more than 4 million people after its release in 1959.[2]

Plot
The film is set in Šumava mountains in 1948. People get illegally transported over the border by mysterious smuggler even though the only person who was capable to cross the swamp was killed. Local SNB is aided by young Karel Zeman. He falls in love with Marie Rysová. Her husband escaped to west. They become lovers but her husband shows up one day. He forces her to go with him to the border and kills an SNB officer. They are led by some mysterious person but Zeman chases them. Marie tries to run away but drowns in swamp. Her husband is killed by the person. Zeman then investigates and manages to track down the smuggler.
