History

SilkRoad Technology, Inc. was founded in North Carolina in 2003 by Andrew "Flip" Filipowski with Eprise, and launched at the Human Resource Executive Technology Conference and Expo in Chicago in 2005.[5]

SilkRoad Technology acquired OpenHire, based in Winston-Salem in 2004.[6]

SilkRoad Technology acquired VTN Technologies, Inc., a company known for its Olé Online Learning Environment training software, in 2008,[7] and had raised $54 million in Series C funding by this year.[8] The company also opened offices in Asia and the Pacific Rim.

The company headquarters relocated to Chicago in 2010, but the Boston and Winston-Salem locations are the primary design and development centers.[9]

Investors include Foundation Capital, Azure Capital Partners, Tenaya Capital, Intel Capital, Keating Capital, and Crosslink Ventures. In May 2012, SilkRoad announced it had secured $35 million financing in a Series C Round.[10][11] In August 2013, SilkRoad secured another $16 million, bringing its total funding to $145 million.[12][13] In May 2015, SilkRoad secured another loan for $7.5 million, bringing its total funding to $152.5 million.[14]

In 2019 SilkRoad Technology began providing Consulting Services.
