Shehnaaz Gill

Shehnaaz Gill is an Indian actress, model and singer who works in television and films.[1] She began her modelling career with the 2015 music video, "Shiv Di Kitaab"[2] alongside Gurvinder Brar.[3] In 2017, she debuted as an actress in Punjabi film Sat Shri Akaal England. In September 2019, Gill participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 13[4] where she emerged as the second runner up.[5]

Early life

Gill was born and raised in Punjab. She is of Punjabi descent and belongs to a Sikh family. She loved to act and sing and this was her passion since childhood.[6]

Career

Early work

She began her career by featuring in Gurvinder Brar's music video "Shiv Di Kitaab" in 2015. Gill appeared in Kanwar Chahal's "Majhe Di Jatti" and Gejja Bhullar's "Pindaan Diyan Kudiyaan" in 2016. In 2017, Gill appeared in a number of music videos with various Punjabi singers including Guri, Karan Sehmbi and Ravneet Singh. Gill's another music video came with Garry Sandhu titled "Yeah Baby Refix".[7] Gill also starred in some films associated with Punjabi cinema such as Sat Shri Akaal England in 2017, Kala Shah Kala and Daaka in 2019.[8]

Bigg Boss 13 and Mujhse Shaadi Karoge

In September 2019, Gill entered as a celebrity participant on Bigg Boss 13. While she was in the Bigg Boss house, her first single, "Veham" came out, followed by some other singles including "Sidewalk", "Range" and "Ronda Ali Peti".[9] The season ended in February 2020 and was won by Sidharth Shukla, whereas Gill finished up as second runner-up.[10] In February 2020, she appeared in Mujhse Shaadi Karoge but it terminated within a month because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[11]

Further ventures

Gill then appeared in a number of music videos including Darshan Raval's, "Bhula Dunga" co-starring Sidharth Shukla,[12] "Keh Gayi Sorry" by Jassie Gill,[13] Tony Kakkar's "Kurta Pajama",[14] "Waada Hai" by Arjun Kanungo,[15] and then she reunited with Sidharth Shukla for "Shona Shona" by Tony Kakkar and Neha Kakkar.[16] Gill will collaborate with Sidharth Shukla for their third music video together titled "Habit".[17]
