Shana Sundstrom

Shana Sundstrom (born 11 February 1973) is an American former long track speed skater and short track speed skater.[1] She started with short track speed skating and switched after the 1994 Winter Olympics where she was an alternate to long track speed skating.[2]

She is the sister of speed skaters Becky Sundstrom and Tama Sundstrom.[2]

Short track speed skating

Sundstrom was an alternate of the American short track team at the 1994 Winter Olympics but didn't compete. The team won the bronze medal in the 3000 metre relay event.[2][1]

Speed skating

She was an active speed skater between 1994 and 2003.[3]

Sundstrom made her ISU Speed Skating World Cup debut during the 1997-98 speed skating season in the B-division of the 3000m in Milwaukee. During the 1998–99 season she made her debut in the A-division in Hamar, Norway in the 1500 metres and 3000 metres. She rode her last World Cup during the 2001–02 season in The Hague, Netherlands on 25 November 2001.

Sundstrom represented the United States at the 2000 World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships in the 3000 metres event, finishing 22nd.[4] She also competed at other international competitions, including at ISU Speed Skating World Cups.[4]

She participated at the 2001 and 2003 American Allround Championships and 2003 American Sprint Championships but never won a medal.[4]
