Shahin Izadyar

Shahin Izadyar (Persian: شاهین ایزدیار, born 13 September 1993, in Karaj) is an Iranian swimmer and member of Iran national Paralympic swimming team.[1] He received 6 gold medals and a silver medal in 2018 Asian Para Games. He is known as golden boy of Iran because of his historic record.[2]

Shahin Izadyar is the first and only person who has been able to represent Iran in the Paralympic swimming competitions and reach the finals of these competitions.[3]

Shahin Izadyar was born with an amputated right wrist. He has been swimming since he was 9 years old and has been a member of the Iranian national swimming team since he was 14 years old. He participates in the classification of athletes with disabilities in S10 class.

The Iranian champion is compared with the American champion, Michael Phelps and is nicknamed on the internet as Asia's Michael Phelps.[4][5]
