Sfendali railway station
Sfendali railway station (Greek: Σιδηροδρομικός σταθμός Σφενδάλης, romanized: Sidirodromikos stathmos Sfendalis) is a railway station in Sfendali (a settlement north of Athens), in East Attica, Greece. It is situated on the Piraeus–Platy railway,[2] part of the Athens-Thessaloniki railway corridor at 50.878 km from Piraeus station and 30 km from Athens Central Station.[3] It is owned by OSE, but service are provided by TrainOSE, through Proastiakos from Athens to Chalcis.[4]

History
The Station opened on 8 March 1904, under the name Malakasa station, the date of its re-branding remains unknown. In 1983 the station was rebuilt, reaping on 27 October of that year.
Facilities
The station has sheltered seating on both platforms. Access to 1 and 2 is from a footbridge or lift.
Due to state funding issues,[5] the ticket office has since closed. The Station (as of 2019) is now unstaffed, however CCTV is present.
Service
The station is served by Proastiakos, with frequent services to Athens, Oinoi and Chalcis.[4]
Popular culture
According to the album "From the crowds in the metro", in the late 1960s, the former SEKs have been studying the connection of the Sfendalis station with Oropos.
