Sam Lafferty

Sam Lafferty (born March 6, 1995) is an American professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Playing career

He was drafted by the Penguins in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.[1]

Lafferty played college hockey at Brown from 2014 to 2018.[2] He scored his first collegiate goal on January 3, 2015 against Denver.[3] Lafferty was named All-ECAC Third Team in 2016–17,[4] and was named Second Team All-Ivy League in 2016–17[5] and 2017–18.[6] He scored his first collegiate hat-trick on February 23, 2018 against Harvard.[7]

On March 7, 2018, Lafferty signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins.[8]

Lafferty made his NHL debut on October 8, 2019, in Pittsburgh's game against the Winnipeg Jets.[9] Lafferty scored his first NHL goal on October 12, 2019 against the Minnesota Wild.[10]
