Ruchira Dissanayake

Ruchira Dissanayake (Sinhala: රුචිර දිසානායක; born 7 March 1998), is a Sri Lankan actor[1] in television and cinema,[2] as well as a singer.

Personal life

Ruchira was born as the eldest of the family, where both his parents are Government officers. He has a younger brother. His parents live in Polonnaruwa, where he spent his childhood. Ruchira received his school education at Royal Central College, Polonnaruwa and higher education at University of Peradeniya. He did his Advanced Level examination in the Science stream in 2018. He lives in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Career

At the age of 17, Ruchira acted in the short film Marana Samapthiya. Then he was involved with many television commercials and radio castings.

His debut in cinema acting came through the 2017 film Thanapathilage Gedara in a minor role.

He has acted in many popular teledramas in all genres from drama and tragedy to thriller and comedy. His most notable acting came through plays like the following two stage dramas: Silgath Kokku and Pirimiyekgen Paminillak.[3]
