Reinhold Kubik
Reinhold Kubik (born 22 March 1942[1]) is an Austrian musicologist, pianist and conductor.[2]
Born in Vienna, during his professional career Kubik worked from 1966 to 1974 as Kapellmeister at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf and Duisburg as well as in many other European cities. He was also pianist, composer, choir director and lecturer (since 1980). Kubik was editor-in-chief of the Hänssler Verlag in Stuttgart. He taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, in Nuremberg, Karlsruhe and London and became professor at Yale University in 1987.
From 1993 to 2012 he was editor-in-chief of the Critical Complete Edition of the Works of Gustav Mahler and vice president of the Internationale Gustav Mahler Gesellschaft.
