Red Sky (TV series)

Red Sky (Korean: 홍천기; Hanja: 紅天機; RR: Hong Cheon-gi) is an upcoming South Korean romantic fantasy television series,[1] starring Kim Yoo-jung, Ahn Hyo-seop, Gong Myung and Kwak Si-yang.[2] The series will be directed by Jang Tae-yoo and written by Ha Eun.[3] It is scheduled to be premiered on SBS in fall 2021.[4]

The drama is adapted from the novel of the same name written by Jung Eun-gwol.[5] Red Sky is a fantasy romance historical drama about the only female painter in Joseon Dynasty, who was briefly recorded in the historical records.[6][7]

Synopsis

It tells of a mysterious and beautiful story which Hong Chun Gi (Kim Yoo-jung), a female painter, who entered Dohwawon for the first time with extraordinary aesthetic insight and skills, unravels her terrible fate[8] and fateful love with Ha Ram (Ahn Hyo-seop) who reads the stars.[9]

Ha Ram lost his sight, but he is expected to complete a new "life character", as an astrologer that reads the sky and constellations.[11]
A windmill who is wandering in search of beauty, has a fluent speech and a lively personality. Prince Anpyeong seems to have a free spirit that loves poetry, letters, and is full of romantic qualities but only the outside, he is a deep sense of loneliness inside.[12]
Prince Suyang is confident that he will become the king of Joseon, which will embroider the path of becoming King Sejo in the future with cruelty.[13]
