Ravi Velloor

Ravi Velloor is an Associate Editor of The Straits Times, Singapore’s largest daily broadsheet newspaper. A 36-year veteran journalist and Jefferson Fellow,[1] Velloor has reported from across Asia, the US and Europe, and has worked at Bloomberg News, Time Warner magazines and Agence France-Press.[2]

In 2016, Velloor authored India Rising: Fresh Hope, New Fears,[3] a book about India under its former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, and its then incumbent Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

He is a specialist commentator on Asian Macroeconomics, Business, Geopolitics and Diplomacy, a Media Leader at the World Economic Forum, and frequent speaker and moderator at the World Economic Forum, Jeju Peace Forum, Shangri-La Dialogue and other international forums and conventions.[4] Aside from commenting on contemporary events, he is an award-winning columnist, and writes the weekly column “Speaking of Asia”, and the bi-monthly column, “In Good Company”.[5]
