Gameplay
Puppy Luv is a sim game designed for one player and revolving around caring for a puppy.
It contains:
- Six breeds: Dalmatian, Beagle, Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd, German Short-haired Pointer; unlockable: Boxer, Miniature Schnauzer
- Ten tricks
- Six competitions
The player chooses a puppy and then cares for it by feeding, grooming, and training it, which also earns the player money to buy things. The player is able to take their puppy for walks to allow to relieve itself.
Reception
The game has received largely negative reviews. It has been criticized for the low choice in breeds (only 6 compared to similar sims with 30+), choppy animation that could easily have been fixed, and unrealistic movements, such as when feeding a puppy it would pick the food up in its mouth and tilt its head back much in the manner of geese and ducks without chewing or swallowing. Some parts of the game will be inaccessible or will not allow the player to do anything else until they can get their puppy to perform a trick correctly which may become impossible due to hiccups and bugs in the game, most notably the roll over trick.
