Pirjo Hyvärinen

Pirjo Hyvärinen (born March 1956) is a Finnish former long track speed skater, who was active in the 1970s and 1980s.[1]

Hyvärinen represented her nation four times at the World Sprint Speed Skating Championships for Women. In 1974 (finishing 14th overall), in 1976 (finishing 16th overall), In 1977 (finishing 18th overall) and in 1979 (disqualified).[2] She competed at the World Allround Speed Skating Championships for Women in 1979, finishing 29th overall. She also participated at the European Speed Skating Championships for Women in 1981.[2]

Between 1973 and 1983 she competed a total of 20 times at the Finnish Allround Championships and Finnish Sprint Championships and became national sprint champion in 1974, 1977 and 1981. Furthermore she won a total of four silver medals and two bronze medals.[2]
