Photorhabdus temperata is a species of bacteria.[1] It has been divided into 6 subspecies. It is pathogenic to certain insects.

P. t. temperata produces a substance (a phenylethylamide) which suppresses a serotonin-mediated immune response in Spodoptera exigua.[2] This may prevent S. exigua from detecting quorum sensing.[2]
