Proposal of establishing Philippine Coast Guard Academy

Since the officers of the Philippine Coast Guard are graduates of Philippine Military Academy (PMA), Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA), and Coast Guard Officers’ Course (CGOC), the House Bill 4161 drafted by Congressman Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and Tingog-Partylist Congresswoman Yedda Marie Romualdez was submitted to the 18th Congress of House of Representatives as an attempt to create the Philippine Coast Guard Academy modeled after the United States Coast Guard Academy.[3][4]
