All nine of these temples are classified as "Divya Desams", the 108 temples of Vishnu revered by the 12 poet saints, or Alwars.[2] The route is from Srivaikundam to Tuticorin or Eral or Authoor buses. There is a special shrine for "Kazhuneer Thuraiyan"(Kazhuneer ---> water used for perumal Abhisheka Thurai --> Path),at the backside of the temple. There is no direct pooja for this god and whatever rituals done for Perumal is done to this god also after performing it to Perumal which proved to be very very powerful and unique. as the god has no physical form only it has a pair of slippers and a small stick every last Friday of thai(mostly during February first weeks) is special.
