P. David Searles
P. David Searles was the Philippines country director for the Peace Corps (1971–74), and Regional Peace Corps Director for North Africa, Near East, Asia, and Pacific (NANEAP) (1974–76). From 1976 to 1980 he was Assistant Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts.[1]
He served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps during 1955–58, and also spent some time as a businessman and teacher. He earned a Ph. D. from the University of Kentucky in 1993. He is the author of A College For Appalachia (University Press of Kentucky: 1995) and The Peace Corps Experience (University Press of Kentucky: 1997), both by The University Press of Kentucky.[1]
