The station was a stop along Erie Railroad's suburban Northern Branch (NRRNJ),[1] which terminated at Pavonia Terminal on the Hudson River. It stopped being used for passenger rail transport in 1966, by which time trains had been redirected to Hoboken Terminal. The rail line is still used for freight transport by CSX.
This station was demolished along with many stations other along the line.
The Northern Branch Corridor Project is planned to merge with the existing Northern Branch corridor project,[2] although it is unlikely to be built due to its cost ($1 million, although approximately $40 million has been allocated to the project).[3] Building was expected to begin in 2012 and be completed in 2015 and projected to have an estimated 24,000 passengers daily.[4] It has not opened, nor has the construction begun.
