Nimbus Publishing is the largest Canadian English-language publisher east of Toronto.[2]

In 2005, Nimbus introduced a new fiction imprint called Vagrant Press[3] and in 2012, John Marshall, the owner of Nimbus, decided to sell the company, while their general manager, Dan Soucoup, announced his retirement. Terrilee Bulger and Heather Bryan, both employees of the company and fearing that it might be bought by a larger publishing house out of Ontario, made the decision to buy the company.

In March 2018, the publishing house moved into a larger warehouse on Strawberry Hill Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The building will also feature a coffee shop and the entire catalogue of books from Nimbus Publishing & Vagrant Press.
