Nick Archer
Nicholas Stewart Archer MVO (born 24 December 1960) is a British diplomat, the British ambassador to the Czech Republic (HM Diplomatic Service). Previously he served as ambassador to Denmark and High Commissioner to Malta.

Early life
Nick Archer went to the independent Denstone College in East Staffordshire.
He attended St Chad's College, Durham University, gaining a BA in English and German in 1982.[1]
Career
He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1983. From 1995 to 1997 he was First Secretary in Oslo, and from 1997 to 2000 he was Assistant Private Secretary to the Prince of Wales.
He gained a more senior position, becoming Head of the FCO's NE Asia and Pacific Department from 2001 to 2002, then that of the FCO's Near East and N Africa Department from 2002 to 2005.
High Commissioner
In March 2006 he became the High Commissioner to Malta, remaining until August 2008.
Ambassador
He became the Ambassador to Denmark from 14 October 2008 until 2012. He then worked for 6 years for UK Trade & Investment, and was appointed Ambassador to the Czech Republic in January 2018.[2]
Personal life
He was awarded the MVO in 2001. He married Erica Power in 1999. They have two sons, Alexander and Christian (born in 2004 and 2005). He has had Type 1 diabetes since his early 20s.[3]
