New Left (Montenegro)
The New Left (Montenegrin: Nova ljevica / Нова љевица or NL) is a minor centre-left political party in Montenegro, formed as a local citizens' movement in May 2018, prior to the 2018 Podgorica City Assembly election. Its founder and current leader is civic activist Saša Mijović. The party has no seats in the Parliament of Montenegro, and is yet to contest the parliamentary election.

History
The New Left party was formed in December 2018 from the Podgorica local citizens' movement gathered around civic activist Saša Mijović. Party was part of 2019 Montenegrin anti-corruption protests.[1][2] In July 2020, the New Left decided to enter the big tent Citizens' Bloc coalition with Democratic Montenegro, Demos and Party of United Pensioners and the Disabled in order to participate at the forthcoming August 2020 parliamentary election.[3]
